As we all know, an ongoing outbreak of monkeypox was confirmed on 6 May 2022, beginning with a British resident. From 18 May onwards, cases were reported from an increasing number of countries and regions. As of May 26, 334 cases have been confirmed worldwide, making the monkeypox epidemic a worldwide concern.

Monkeypox is a rare disease that is caused by infection with the monkeypox virus. Monkeypox virus belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus which includes variola virus (which causes smallpox), vaccinia virus (used in the smallpox vaccine), and cowpox virus in the family poxviridae. According to the WHO, the monkeypox virus is transmitted from one person to another by close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets and contaminated materials such as bedding. The incubation period of monkeypox is usually from 6 to 13 days but can range from 5 to 21 days. Improving monkeypox virus detection can effectively prevent monkeypox virus spread amid a global outbreak.
Lifotronic launched two types of real-time PCR detection kits for the monkeypox virus. One is for the detection of monkeypox viruses, and the other is not only for the detection of monkeypox viruses but also for the typing of the Central and West African clade. Compatible with multiple PCR systems and sample types, we can get results in only 40 mins for 96 samples. In addition, the kits have high sensitivity with 200 copies/ml and high accuracy with CV<5%. what’s more. they also contains a house keeping gene (RNase P) as an internal control (IC) for monitoring the process of specimen sampling and nucleic acid extraction.
